Architecture and Society
This graded project gives you the chance to apply what you have learned in our course discussions thus far by considering the context, symbolic value, history, and current use of one of the following structures. Please prepare a well-organized PowerPoint and present your findings in terms that we have learned throughout our first three units and course discussions. Take especial care to link your analysis of this structure to our major course themes and integrate some of our core terms and concepts into your presentation. Think about our analysis of the relationship of place and space to society, the value of monuments to the formation of cultural or popular memory, and design as a cultural artifact. In case one of the options below does not appeal to you, please feel free to propose an appropriate alternative.
