Hi, please let me know if you can do this web design on Wix for me. If you could, I will upload all the information about me that needs to be put on the website to the file (the project I have done in the past and my info). There is not much about writing an essay is more like designing a website that presents my “personal brand” in a professional way on Wix and write some content based on my info to attract more readers.
Instructions: For this class, you will create a professional website about yourself and your “brand” that links to your LinkedIn profile. You may update the WordPress website you developed as part of the DCIM course Strategic Presentations in Digital Media, or you may create a new one (many students find Wix to be a platform that is extremely easy to use, as well as attractive; others have used Google Sites, Go Daddy, Squarespace or Weebly). If you update a prior website, though, make sure that it now contains the following components or sections, although these may be configured in a way that makes sense for the individual student:
Home/landing page — a brief description of the site and you! Include any photos or design elements you like.
“Experience” page — Your education and professional experiences, including resume, work history, volunteer work, professional development and goals, awards and certificates you have earned, etc.
“Interests” page — More about you and your hobbies/organizations/interests. Volunteer work can go here instead of the Experience page, if you like. Some students include info on their interests on the landing page. The important thing is to convey something about yourself on your site that builds your brand and lets those who view your site learn something about you as a person, not just a potential employee.
“Projects” page — Examples of, and links to, key assignments/presentations/papers from DCIM and other courses. Your Digital Capstone Project (info below) should be the first thing on this page unless it has several pieces to it (like a blog) and requires its own separate page. (I have created a blog post on Wix for this digital capstone project wich is about screen time about children’s mental development and well-being, and you can see it on my blog post on my Wix account )
“Social Media feeds” — Links to your LinkedIn, Twitter, or any other professional social media accounts. Alternatively (or also), you can embed Social media “buttons” on your home page or elsewhere.
“Contact info” — a way to contact you.
You can change and add to these pages, and/or change their names, to fit YOU and your vision for this site. But all this basic information should be included on your site somewhere.
