Besides the story itself, a dictionary and/or thesaurus, class notes / lectures / discussions, and optional provided essay, do not consult any other materials to complete this assignment.

● Consider Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour.” What does the story suggest about marriage?
● Consider Alice Munro’s “Boys and Girls.” What does the story suggest about gender roles?
● Consider Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings.” What does the story suggest about exploitation?
As you consider the story, be sure to address the protagonist and how the protagonist manifests the theme you identify.
