The assignment directly relates to the case study: Please make sure to include a lot of infomation in the PowerPoint slides
This is your opportunity to be the expert on the violent offender you studied and on explaining their violence. Here are the criteria for you to follow for this final presentation
Your presentation must be between 4-6 minutes long:
You will lose points for being either too short or too long. Make sure you practice and have it down in the time permitted.
You must use a Power Point or something like it as a visual aid.
The content of your presentation is the culmination of your work on your case study and articulation of how well you have learned and understand the various concepts in the course. You need to have the following things in your presentation. Consider this below an example out line to help you create your presentation. Section 1-3 should not take you any longer than 2 minutes.
Introduce yourself and tell the class who you studies
Identify the type of violent crimes your study committed. For example, are they a serial killer, a domestic violence offender, etc.
Provide supports thorough examples or illustrations to demonstrate how you concluded this.
Elaborate briefly on the types of crimes the individual is most know for and in here also state when did this begin for them in their life. I have some examples questions for you to consider answering below. Use what applies to your case.
What age did they start becoming violent?
What were their first violent offenses or acts?
What was their pattern development to get to their final acts or what most know for?
If important to explaining their violence or your theoretical explanation then describe the victims or victimology.
Explain their violence. Here is where you apply the various materials from class and any other research you have done to explain their violence. Spend 2-3 minutes
Make sure this is not you mere opinion or conjecture
Identify and state 1 or several things from class and your readings that you believe apply to best explain your case. Why did they do what they did?
For each that you identify make sure you follow with supports and examples form the case to illustrate why using that specific example
Utilize what you learned about their childhood to illustrate and support your conclusions
Conclusion – this can be fast at the end. Just sum up. State name of person again, and your final comments related to what thing you think has the biggest impact to explain their violence and why. Spend 1 minute
