EDUC 417 Multicultural Education Final Unit Plan
The final assessment for this course is a 3-lesson/activity unit plan in your area of interest that is designed to highlight the themes of this course. During the course you have had the opportunity to design three separate activities by focusing on a specific course theme. This final project combines these three activities into a COHESIVE UNIT with a reflective paper.
Learning Activity 1: Culturally Responsive
Learning Activity 2: Trauma Informed
Learning Activity 3: Family and Community Engagement
Getting Started
Review the three learning activities and unit overview that you have already completed. Using feedback from the instructor, revise and strengthen the learning plans and overview if needed.  Clearly mark your revisions using highglights, different text colors or other tools.
The Assignment
Upload the revised unit overview and all three revised learning activities along with a final reflection to brightspace. As the learning activities have already been completed, the primary focus of this assignment is the written reflection. Please make sure to highlight clearly what changes have been made.
Written Reflection Guidance
Your reflection should be 3-4 pages in length and focus primarily on articulating the scholarly basis for your unit plan and a reflection on how the unit plan showcases your learning and development in the course. Your reflection should include explicit in-text references to at least two course or other resources. Below is a list of questions to guide your reflection. You do not need to answer them all explicitly.
What was your overall approach in designing these activities? What were your big goals and what resources did you use to shape your lessons?
How are the principles of multicultural education infused into your activities (content, structure, pedagogy)?
How did the activities change from your first draft until now?
What challenges did you face in designing these lessons and the overall unit?
How has your thinking about multicultural education changed during this course?
(not required) How has your faith impacted your growth in this course? How has this course impacted your faith journey?
Upload the revised unit overview and all three revised learning activities along with a final reflection to brightspace. This can all be in one document or in separate documents
