For your Unit 5 Complete assignment, write a Comprehensive APA Analysis Paper. Use what you have learned from the READ and ATTEND sections throughout the course (including unit 5) and at least three scholarly sources to address the items listed below (minimum 1000 words). If you need support on how to formulate your APA Analysis paper, you may refer to your APA Template under the Resource tab or contact the CPS Librarians. • Identify and describe the typical hierarchy within the state court system and the federal court system. List and discuss the various types of specialized courts operating throughout the United States. Explain what our adversary system of justice is based on and what it requires. Identify the key players in the judicial process. Summarize what the alternatives to trial are. Discuss the significance of the Giglio decision for law enforcement officers.
• Explain the primary purposes and goals of corrections. Summarize the four correctional ideologies that have developed and with which model each is associated. Describe the various correctional alternatives to incarceration being used in the United States. Discuss how jails differ from lockups and prisons. Compare and contrast parole and probation. What is the primary focus of juvenile corrections, and what are the correctional alternatives available for juveniles?
• Some say that being a police officer will not make you independently wealthy. Many must work off-duty jobs in order to “make the ends meet”. Discuss some of the challenges that off-duty officers may face when responding to a crime in progress? Police officers experience several levels of stress in their daily work. Some stress is good and some bad. Describe the difference between eustress and distress. Discuss why police officers are reluctant to seek stress counseling.
