The topic of your writing can be chosen to be related to policing and mass incarceration (free choice of topic)
*Minimum 2000 words (Word count is an automatic function in Microsoft Word, please mark the word count of your paper in the “Cover Page” according to its systematic count), Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, double space, 12pt, page numbers, APA Citation
* You will upload the paper to Blackboard under the Turnitin Assignment. According to Turnitin, “The Turnitin Similarity Report quantifies how similar your work is to other pieces of writing, highlighting any areas in your paper that match outside sources. Using that information, educators can determine if the matches are appropriate or not, based on assignment expectations and your school’s acceptable thresholds.” After uploading your paper, you can check the similarity report (the percentage of cited materials in the paper). The citation similarity of no more than 15% (including 15%) is acceptable but you must modify the percentage of cited materials in the paper into less than 15% if you found the similarity report is over 15% before the due date of the assignment. You can submit paper multiple times before the due date and receive a new similarity report, after 3 resubmissions, you will need to wait 24 hours after a resubmission to see the new report. The new one can overwrite reports until due date. Please use the resubmission chance to modify your paper before the due date in order to fit the similarity report less than 15%. It is strongly recommended that you submit the paper at least 2 days before the due date so that you have the enough time to modify your paper into the requirement.
