This paper will follow the APA 7 format. That means your paper should be arranged in the following order: ? Title page (page 1) ? Abstract (page 2) ? Text of paper (begins with page 3 and continues for 5 – 7 more pages) ? References (last page, with appropriate number) Please consult owl.english.purdue.edu for specific information regarding exact use of headings, citations, etc. You can decide what headings you will use in your paper. You can keep it simple: after your Abstract page, you can begin the text of your paper with the centered heading of Discussion. You needn’t have any other headings until the end of your paper when you have the centered heading of Conclusion. Of course you have more headings if you wish. Please refer to APA 7, not 6. Please be sure to: ? Have a thesis statement that explains the intent of your paper. The thesis statement should be the last sentence in your abstract. (This paper will ……) ? Have a minimum of 4 sources, 2 of which must be scholarly journal articles. You can use your text as another source, but that should NOT form the basis of your paper. In other words, do not fill your paper with citations from our textbook. That is considered general knowledge since we have all read it. ? Your journal articles should reference US education, and not be older than 2008. ? Explore your topic thoroughly, going beyond general knowledge. ? Show how your topic impacts the field of education today and in the future. ? Support your findings with relevant examples and evidence from your sources. ? Avoid plagiarism. Use citations to give credit to ideas/words/statistics that originated with others. ? Include your personal point of view of your topic, but this should not overwhelm your paper.
