This exercise is designed to help you gain the tools necessary to assess the fitness, sport, and health industry, current trends and practices, and their relationship to health and wellness management.  In addition, this will help you understand how current health and fitness trends will impact your personal career in this industry.  This project will give you some experience in addressing an issue with a more current trend/practice and designing a plan for its implementation using evidence-based solutions.

Introduction to your Project (“topic paper”): Selecting a Community/Organization & Current Trend of Interest
This week 3 assignment is a short paper that addresses each of the items below serves as a proposal for your project.  You will also submit a contribution to our Week 3 Assignment Media Gallery of our classroom.  This is not a presentation, just a depiction of your organization and/or current trend.  
This is a 2-part assignment that requires a submission to the Week 3 Media Gallery Discussion area, as well as the submission of a paper to the Week 3 Assignment area.
Part 1
In a 1-2 page paper, please identify and describe a community or organization of interest to you, as well as a description of a current issue that effects this community. 
Please be sure to include:
Description of the community or organization of Interest
Explanation of the health and/or fitness problem in that community or organization
Explanation of the interrelationship between your community/organization and the current health and fitness trend you are reporting on

Please upload a picture to the Week 3 Assignment Media Gallery that depicts your organization and/or current trend that you will be discussing.

Your submission must be attached as a WORD document only.  All references (2-4 peer-reviewed references required), in-text citations, and narrative must be in APA format.  You are to construct a paper that has a solid introduction, body, and conclusion that addresses all items listed above.   
Hint:  If you use the above items as section headings, you will have an easier time including all of the requirements.  So, the layout of your paper may look something like what is outlined following this paragraph. Suggested headings are in bold.  Please keep in mind that you may use different headings and that what is listed below is for purposes of example and does not depict APA formatting.

Include a title page
1-2 pages in length (this requirement does not include the title or reference pages)
Please feel free to include appropriate graphics and photos
Include an appropriately formatted reference list (2-4 references)
Please keep in mind that if a resource is listed on your reference list at the end of a paper, it must first have been used in the body of your paper as an in-text citation

12-point, times new roman or arial
