Managing processes is the necessary basis for good process digitization and digital transformation of businesses. For this reason, you should demonstate that you can apply the BPM lifecycle and the associated methods and techniques to a real problem in a company. You will go through a project with the aim of process improvement and possible IT usage, taking on the role of a process consultant.
Project Description
You evaluate individually whether there are inefficiencies in the company in which you work, including in one of the areas you are familiar with.
These inefficiencies can manifest themselves, among other things, in poor quality, high costs, constant dissatisfaction, increased media breaks, etc. The following analysis may help to identify – PRIO analysis:
Problems (e.g. customer complaints, excessive calls to the IT hotline, complaints from colleagues, excessive absence of employees due to illness
Risks (e.g. many interfaces between departments, many material or system discontinuities, lack of controls, too little or insufficiently trained employees
Inefficiencies (e.g. many interfaces between different authorities, the same documents are processed by different authorities, lack of consistency of systems and data flows, too many or unnecessary controls
Opportunities (e.g. the team works very well together, further customers can be won by expanding the process, the staff is very satisfied, there are hardly any mistakes and customer complaints are extremely rare
Please also have in mind that this course is called “Digital Transformation” – please define the inefficiency in such a way that you can optimize it with common digitalization approaches. Please no rocket science project with research and development approaches. The motto should be: “from practice for practice”. Also consider that the project must be able to be completed in the remaining time by the end of the course. If you are unsure – please contact me, I will be happy to look at it.
