Assignment Three: CEO Leadership Essay – Board Presentation
Imagine yourself as a CEO who is required to give an annual
presentation for the Board summarizing the current state of the organization
(achievements and challenges). This is your dream COMPANY or NONPROFIT – not
one that already exists. This is YOU as you imagine you would be as the CEO,
not a real existing CEO (unless you already are a CEO!). For your Board
Presentation, you are writing
an essay addressing the questions below:
·
What is
the organization/company/nonprofit and what does it do? Include in the INTRODUCTION.
·
What
was your leadership style? How did your personality and values contribute to
that style? How has your leadership style benefitted the organization?
·
What
polices does your organization have in place to increase productivity and
reduce turnover?
·
Describe
the organizational culture. How do you address diversity and inclusion?
·
How did
you create an environment that motivated your employees?
·
What
would you describe as your key achievement? The organization’s key achievement?
·
What
was your biggest challenge as a leader? The organization’s biggest challenge?
Required:
·
Use at least TEN of the theories and key ideas from our textbook.
·
Include TWO visuals for the Board. These must be created by YOU and
can be anything that helps tell the story of your organization in the past
year. Things like graphs, tables, marketing material, word art, etc. all are
visuals.
·
The essay must include an introduction, conclusion,
and references (use APA or MLA citation style). DO NOT simply answer the
questions. It must flow as if you are talking to the Board. Tell the story!
·
Use realistic examples – be as creative as you like.
Submit at the end of Week 10 (11:59 PM on Sunday, June 2). Length
requirement is at least 3000 words.
**This is the culminating assignment for this class. It should
show me that you understand what we’ve covered and can apply it to organization
