For this discussion, you will largely use the information you presented in the Research Paper: Idea Development Assignment (even though it may have not yet been graded).
Research begins with an idea. Research is also best developed with input from others, and the dissemination of completed research requires, in most cases, a peer review process. A graduate student’s ability to present an idea, propose a way to test that idea as part of the development of research, and give and receive feedback in the process of that development is a very important skill. The ability to present information in a professional manner is a part of this. For this discussion, you will present an overview of your idea development to this point, to include a summary of your literature review, initial focus and hypotheses, variables, and other information that will be helpful to give your reader sufficient information to provide you with good peer-reviewed feedback to help you further develop your project. You will in turn do the same to help them develop theirs.
It is also good practice to be able to present information succinctly, yet thoroughly, within a prescribed time limit. Therefore, your videos must be between 3 and 5 minutes in length.
PROMPT – For this discussion, you must:
Create a PowerPoint to use in your video with all the required information presented in a way that is beneficial to your reader/viewer. It should be detailed enough to provide the information required, but not overly wordy or cluttered so that the information is lost.
Submit a recorded video of yourself presenting the information for your project, using the PowerPoint you created (both your face and the PowerPoint must be visible).
Additional Guidelines:
Present your idea and research focus in a way that demonstrates the “what” in research.
Present your idea in a way that justifies the “why” (or gap and purpose) in research. That is, your idea and current focus must address the “so what” question.
Support your idea and presentation with a demonstration from previous research and a biblical foundation. You should only include a sampling of the previous research for this assignment.
Identify your hypotheses and variables as you have in mind at this point, though it is not expected that you will have these finalized. The goal is that you are thinking in this direction, and you can accept feedback from others to help with that development.
Present all applicable parts in APA format, including correctly cited and referenced sources. Be sure to include a reference page/slide at the end of your PowerPoint.
