Nursing Health History For this assignment, you will complete a nursing interview with a patient of your choice. This patient could be a fellow classmate, relative, or friend that is 18 years of age or older. Youwill need to plan a time with your patient to go through this comprehensive nursing history interview outlined in chapter 16 of your Fundamentals of Nursing textbook (page 231). Please indicate who you interviewed (using initials only) and the environment where the interview took
place in your first paragraph. Once you have completed your interview, you will need to write a summary of your patient interview. You will need to have a cover (title) page and the patient interview with headings. If you chose to quote anything from your textbook you must cite the quotation in proper APA format and include a reference page. The title page, summary, and references page
(if applicable) must be in APA format. Your summary should be between 3 to 6 pages, excluding the title page and reference page (if applicable). Your interview summary must be typed in Time New Roman, 12pt font, double spaced. Your submitted document must be a word document (not PDF) submitted to the appropriate assignment drop box on GAView/D2L by Friday July 12, 2024 by 11:30pm. Ten (10) points will be deducted for every day the assignment is late. No

Provide a brief reason as to why the patient is seeking care. If the patient isn’t seeking care, then you can pretend the patient is seeking a “checkup.” Determine if you patient has any expectations for the care that they will receive from you or any healthcare provider. Present and Past Health History
If your patient reports having a present illness or health concern, explore that with them in this section. You can use the PQRST acronym to assist you in doing so. If the patient is just seeking a “checkup,” then indicate how they feel about their current state of health (good, bad, indifferent) and identify how they maintain their health. For Past Health History, indicate if your patient has any medical conditions, takes any medications, and has had any surgeries. Also, be sure to inquire about any lifestyle habits that may influence their overall health.
Family Health History The family history includes data about immediate and blood relatives. Is the patient at risk for illnesses of a genetic or familial nature? Are there any health promotion or illness prevention
activities that could offset illness? Psychosocial History
In this section provide information on the patient’s psychosocial history which can include the patient’s support system, stress relief strategies, and coping mechanisms.4 Spiritual Health
In this section provide information on the patient’s beliefs about life, source of guidance in
acting on beliefs, and the relationship they have with family in exercising faith. You can also
inquire about any rituals or spiritual practices that they may use to express their spirituality.
Observations of Patient Behavior
Throughout the interview, take note of your patient’s verbal and nonverbal behaviors as well as
the patient’s overall functional status. Is the patient actively participating in the interview? Are
they withdrawn from the interview? Does the patient accurately report their physical abilities? Or
does the patient overestimate their physical abilities?
