There is 2 parts of this assignment
PART ONE:
For this Thought Share please find a current event for each of the following (although if you can answer both from one event, that’s fine as well):
1) Find and describe example of a current event where somebody takes credit or responsibility for an outcome.  This might be a good outcome or a bad outcome.  Taking credit for the outcome would be an example of an internal attribution.  For example, an athlete may have said that they worked hard and that’s why they won the competition.   (this should take about 50 words to describe)
2) Find and describe an example of a current event where somebody states that an outcome was not caused by them or they were not responsible for.  This might be a good outcome or a bad outcome.  Saying that something other than oneself caused the behavior will be an example of an external attribution.  For example, an athlete may have said that their coaches and parents really helped them and that’s why they won the competition.   (this should take about 50 words to describe)
Remember, current events are something that has happened somewhere in the world that the public has learned about……I’m not meaning this to be from your personal life.
You do not have to put a link to the event, but it has to be about somebody specific (e.g., Simone Biles felt she worked hard for her success at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championship) and not just in general (e.g., the athlete felt they worked hard for their success).
Please number the answer, so i can know which will go with. NO OUTSIDE SOURCES, JUST
THE TEXTBOOK.
PART 2:
This homework is the same as you may have seen in Chapter 3; however, instead of it being about your life, this one is from around the world…..this could be something in read in the news or seen on a television show or movie.   Also, although I’m saying “world” it could be local, regional (i.e., it doesn’t have to be global).  It does have to be a specific event (e.g., The Houston Astros’ baseball game on May 8th) and not a generalized situation (e.g., at a baseball game).
1) For this chapter pick one of the following concepts (1 point):
display rules
primacy effect
fundamental attribution error
two-step attribution process
self-serving attribution
belief in a just world
bias blind spot
To answer question 1 please just state the concept you picked.
2) Write the definition from the textbook for this concept. (1 point)  You can copy the definition.
3) Describe a specific event or situation from around the world (i.e., news, current events, movies, social media etc.) that relates to the concept.  For this part you’re not talking about the concept itself, you are just giving me the background information so I know what’s happening.  The length of this will vary greatly and depending on how long it takes for you to describe the situation.  (2 points)
4) Write how this situation illustrates the concept you picked.  This needs to be in enough detail so that I know you understand and can apply the concept.  This will probably take around 50 words.  (6 points)
