You will need to interview a Site Supervisor or Program Director or Teacher that has worked in the
field of Special Education Early Childhood Education for at least 2-5 years. (They may not have
been a director for that entire time.)
Choose a licensed child care facility. The center must serve children between birth through age 8. 
This assignment has four components: 
1. The interview 
2. Facility/Program information 
3. Summary of the interview (2 pages) 
4. Reflection of the interview (1 page)
Assignment requirements: 
Your paper must be typed, Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, with standard
margins. Include your name, class, assignment title and date on your paper. Your paper must also
be stapled in the upper left-hand corner.
Your final paper will include the four parts of the assignment, please the grading rubric (Part 5).
Please label each section of your paper. You should have a minimum of three full pages (not
including your notes).
Please put your paper together in the following order: 
Part 1- Program information
This section will include the following information about the site you visited and the person
you interviewed. The director will be able to provide this information to you. The information must
be written in the following order:
• Date and time of visit 
• Name and address of site (program) 
• License number 
• Ages of the children served in their program 
• Number of children served in their program 
• Type of early childhood program (e.g. private, non-profit, Head Start, etc.) 
• First name of the director/supervisor/teacher you interviewed 
• The number of years they have worked in the field of early childhood education 
• The number of years they have been in this position
Part 2 – Interview Summary 
After completing your interview, type a 1-2-page paper summarizing the information. Responses
should be written in a flowing conversational style. Paraphrase the director’s responses but include
direct quotes when she/he said something that you found particularly interesting or insightful.
Part 3 – Reflection 
Write (type) a one-page reflection of this interview. Use examples from the interview to support
your answers. You may label the questions 1 – 4 or just write separate paragraphs. (Do not re-write
questions in your paper.)

2. What was most interesting to you about the interview? Any challenges?

Part 4 – Interview notes 
Include your original interview notes at the end, including questions asked. Your interview notes do
