below you will find the topic for our final exam. I am primarily looking for your understanding of Modernism based on the literature (one novelist, one poet, one playwright or short story writer) from our semester plan. You will turn in your 6-to 7-paragraph essay in the Turnitin link (“Assignments,” “Final Exam”) for our final exam, which is due 5/16 at 11 a.m.
Here’s the topic for our final exam:
Please write your essay in response to the following prompt:
Imagine you were teaching English 461 and had to justify your choice of primary texts to a committee. Based on our syllabus and semester plan, please present an argument about three major texts that we discussed in class and should be included in “English 461: British Modernism.” Referencing our readings on the semester plan and our class discussions, please choose one work each by one novelist, one poet, one playwright or short story writer from our semester plan (a total of three texts) and explain why they are key Modernist texts. Please present an argument that explains why you think that those three texts are important and should be included in your semester plan.
In other words, relying on the works by three authors (one novelist, one poet, one playwright or short story writer) we discussed in class (from our semester plan), please write a 6- 7-paragraph essay that reflects on the extent to which your chosen works are seminal Modernist texts. Please make your analysis of the primary texts as specific as possible. Since I am interested in your analysis of the primary texts, you don’t need any secondary literature.

Body paragraphs that include meaningful examples, details, and textual evidence with relevant quotes from the primary texts (in MLA format), and explanations to support your points (including an analysis of poetic devices if necessary).

Make sure your paragraphs have topic sentences that connect the reader back to the thesis statement. Make sure your topic sentences have clear transitions.
