To be successfully with this assignment, complete these steps:
The purpose of this assignment is to integrate the research process, starting with a clinical nursing question (PIO or PICO format), database literature search, and the analysis of five (5) related original research studies. It should also include one or more additional articles that support the significance or background of the question. The student should make recommendations based on the strength of the current evidence and describe the nurse’s role in implementing the recommendations. The body of the paper should be at least four (4) full pages plus a cover page and references. It should address the questions in the rubric below and meet all guidelines for a professionally written paper. This paper is to be written in APA 7th edition format.
The student must achieve at least an 80% on the final paper for this course. Part of the assignment is to obtain editorial feedback and incorporate that into the final paper. Students who do not achieve at least 80% on their final paper must submit a revised paper, within the course calendar guidelines, for a 5 point deduction.
The draft paper is due for editorial feedback per the course calendar. Students may seek feedback from course faculty, other faculty, or the South College Writing Lab. Students should request feedback related to paper organization, robustness of themes and support, APA format, and spelling and grammar. This feedback should be incorporated into the final paper.
Students who choose to seek editorial feedback from a faculty member or the campus Writing Lab should request assistance at least two weeks before the due date for the draft, so faculty or the Lab can ensure time for review.
The final paper is submitted on Canvas through Turnitin for evaluation of plagiarism. To obtain an acceptable (green, less than 20%) Turnitin score, the student should write the paper in her/his own words. The student should avoid quotations whenever possible and use quotation marks and appropriate citation when necessary. Students should keep all notes, articles, outlines, and drafts. Note that evidence of plagiarism violates the South College Academic Honor Code.
