Description
This project addresses your ability to apply strategic operations management principles learned throughout the course to a company of your choice. You will work in teams to prepare and submit a video presentation that uses media such as clips, audio, pictures, and slides to relate operational issues for a subject company. The submission should look like a documentary video report that addresses the strategic operations of the organization including their operations strategy, supply chain risk management strategies, and lean and sustainable operations. You are expected to perform analysis on such issues and provide your critical input regarding how these operations are exemplary, facing troubles, or can be improved.
Instructions
Use iMovie or Microsoft Photos to create a narrated video or narrated PowerPoint about a company of your choice. The company may be a manufacturing or service one, working for-profit. The digital story should include information about the company as an introduction along with the following:
Introduction to the company: Mission/ vision/ corporate strategy (2 minutes)
Operations strategy and how it provides competitive advantage to the company (2 minutes)
Comment on their application of JIT or lean concepts if any. If not, comment on how lean quality concepts can be used/ applied to improve their operations (3 minutes)
Sources of risk for the company and how they can/ should devise strategies to mitigate them (2.5 minutes)
The company’s sustainable operations (1.5 minutes)

Combination of media is up to the group for the best digital story, but there should be some narration (i.e., the inclusion of audio components by team members). Team size should be 3-4 with the video size around 12 (maximum of 15) minutes. Make sure that all sources are cited, including video clips. Note that company logos can be used as long as the video is not publicly shared (e.g., on YouTube), and is only submitted for educational purposes. Non-copyrighted royalty free images or CC-free images
(https://search.creativecommons.org) can be used. These still should be properly cited in your produced video report.
The project will be developed in three Parts. While ungraded, Part 1 is mandatory and lateness penalties for this part will be applied to the graded components, Parts 2 and 3.

Uploading the Video Clip
Note that in most cases the video clips generated will exceed the limit allowable as a regular submission in Moodle.
As such, your team will have to upload the completed video clip to an online storage service such as OneDrive, and then provide the link to this in your submission.
