Please find one example for each (representational, abstract, non-representational) at the Flint institute of Arts website. Your examples should be works that you think best fit each category. For each of your chosen examples, I would like you to attempt to summarize the form and content of each piece. After keying in your ideas and examples, submit your work using the hyperlink below. Artist and title of each work of art is imperative along with an image – you should have three examples (one each of representational, abstract, non-objective plus the form and content of each). Please attempt to decipher the content of each work without reading any summary information from the website. I would like to know what you have to say about the content – I do not grade on how accurate your ideas are, only on how detailed they are. When you click on a work of art, the website will give you the materials and measurements (ie, oil on canvas, 11 x 14″). Those are important parts of form and should be used; it is not ‘cheating’ to use that information as it is nearly impossible to determine the materials used via computer screen. However, I would like your ideas on other aspects of form (colors, textures, organization, subject matter, etc).
