This is the case descriiption:
Ms X, a 39-year-old African lady, presented to Mosta Healthcare Center with a complaint of a bulge on her upper eyelid accompanied by pain and redness. Additionally, she reported a three-month history of palpitations. Ms. X expressed concern about her 7-year-old daughter, who has a known history of asthma and was currently experiencing cough and a runny nose.
Ms. X appeared fatigued and frustrated, due to the extended waiting time to see the general practitioner. Throughout the appointment, her daughter exhibited excessive movement, and Ms. X struggled to keep her still. Upon observation, the doctor recognized signs consistent with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in the child.
The consultation began with a detailed medical history regarding the daughter’s symptoms. Upon examination, the daughter showed no fever and normal lung sounds. The doctor then shifted his focus to Ms. X, taking a detailed history of her symptoms before examining her eye, where signs consistent with a stye were observed. A cardiovascular examination of Ms. X revealed a normal heart rate and regular rhythm.
The child’s hyperactive behavior disrupted the interaction, history taking and physical examination process, as the child constantly moved objects, medical devices, and interrupted conversations with her excessive movements.
