For every module, you will be asked to write a 1-page reflection essay on assigned work for the module. You will submit this essay through CANVAS Quiz link. At the end of each quiz, you will see a posted essay question. You will copy and past your essay into the essay question box. However, make sure you are ready with your essay before taking the quiz as the allocated time would only be enough to address multiple choice question section. 1-page Reflection Essay Guidelines:Your reflection essay should be based on careful reading and thinking through the assigned readings and videos for the week. This essay asks you to go beyond the summaries of what you read and watched. You will begin by summarizing the most important conclusions authors draw and then link them to other assigned readings, videos, and your everyday life experiences. I do not want a shortened version of what you read and watched; I want to know what you thought about what you read and how they are linked to each other and to everyday life. In a good reflection paper, you might:State what you think are the most important conclusions the author drawsConnect the material with other topics and readings from this courseExplain how the material can relate to our world, society, different groups and individuals. Say what you found most interesting or unexpected about the reading, and whyDraw out the implications of the arguments made in the reading and/or video for improving people’s livesThe reaction papers should be 1-page double-spaced (excluding titles, names, etc.), in 11 or 12 point font with normal margins (1 inch). Your essay should be clear and grammatical, although you can write in a relatively informal voice if you prefer; ‘I’ statements are increasingly accepted in academic writing, and are particularly appropriate for this type of assignment. Reflection papers do not need to use additional sources, though you could include these if you wish. Refer to the readings and videos in the body of the essay. (If you do use additional materials, please provide full references and a bibliography for those sources). The papers will be primarily evaluated on three criteria: how well you know the material; how well you connect the ideas throughout the readings and videos instead of just summarizing each; and how well you describe the implications of the ideas and concepts presented in the readings. I will also weigh how well you express yourself and the clarity of your writing, though these are secondary factors.
