What is “Social Media”? Websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking to connect with friends, family, coworkers, or customers. Social media can have a social purpose, a business purpose, or both. A few examples of social media platforms are Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.

The world is highly divided on the issue of “social media”. Whether or not people should spend so much time surfing through social media platforms.

An argument is a rational discussion in which each person advances and supports a point of view about a topic. In a good argument, the audience listens carefully as the case is stated with solid evidence to support the author’s point of view. For the following writing prompt, you need to try to convince your audience with your opinions and interpretations by recognizing the following three points:

3. Provide adequate support.
Write a 500-word argumentative essay on the following prompt:
Are you for or against social media? Why or why not?
The essay must be typed in MLA format. A minimum of FIVE paragraphs must be developed in the essay – an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Keep in mind all the key argumentative elements:

introduction), three (3) or more body paragraphs (the topic sentence is the first sentence of each body paragraph), and a concluding paragraph.
10. Write a well-elaborated essay.
11. DO NOT submit a thesis, outline, or rough draft. ONLY submit the final exam essay.
12. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE. ANY STUDENT WHO PLAGIARIZES WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE A ZERO.
13. Essay is 500 words (Do not exceed the word count), in 12-point font, Times New Roman, and double-spaced. Follow the MLA guidelines.
14. The Final Exam is due Monday, May 6, 2024, no later than 11:59 pm. If students do not submit the final exam before 11:59 pm on May 6th, then the students will not be able to turn in the final. If the student does not submit the final exam by the time, it is due, then the student will receive a zero (0) for the final exam.
