My background:
I was born in 2001 and raised in Vietnam before my family all immigrated to the US 4 years ago. My major is Hospitality Management. The reason is that I love the hospitality ambiance, working with people, the flexibility when dealing with customers, and of course travel. I was inspired by my dad who used to work in this area when I was younger (the time we were living in Vietnam). He told me how everything was going when working in those situation.
My goal is to become a Hotel Manager, this is my last goal. In order to become that position, I need to go from the bottom accumulating experience and knowledge. I would like to work in hotel ambiance rather anywhere else.
I took internship at Marriot Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel in Columbia (https://merriweatherlakehouse.com). And I was highly graded for this internship.
Community service I took part in before was become a Vietnamese teacher’s assistant at a Vietnamese Buddhist Pagoda (Giac Son Pagoda in Laurel, MD) in 2021. I helped children mostly having originated from Vietnam but born in the US to get to know their mother language which is Vietnamese. I took pride in teaching and having them understand the language.
My biggest accomplishment today is basically my academic result. As I have worked hard to get so far as today, maintaining GPA 4.0. I was taught and trained so well in this Hospital are that I was thankful for what I have done and received such as knowledge, skills, scholarships, etc. I graduated from 2-year Howard Community College and transferred to University of Maryland, Eastern Shore for Hospitality Management last Fall 2023 semester. Fall 2024 is my third semester at this university.
