May 4, 2024

Each student will complete an individual final project. The purpose of this project is to challenge each student to select one country and identify and evaluate its culture and local foods/cuisines. The project should analyze, compare, contrast, and discuss the impacts of history, culture, and environment on the foods that are produced, consumed, and celebrated in the selected country. The project’s report also should include a reflection where the manifestation of human diversity explored in this course is described.
When preparing the project, students can use the textbook and other supportive materials such as books, articles, interviews with professionals, useful websites, magazines, newspapers, TV shows, documentaries, and videos. Students should include photos and video clips where possible and appropriate. Each student should evaluate the cultural, regional, and religious effects on the chosen country’s cuisine. In the PowerPoint presentation, each student should analyze, compare, contrast, and discuss the impacts of history, culture, and environment on the foods that are produced, consumed, and celebrated in each selected country. Your goal should be to produce a creative and educational presentation.
