Task Description
Complete Essay
Due: by 4pm on Friday Week 10
Topic: The same topic as used for your Essay Plan assessment
WRIT1001: Essay Assessment: General instructions
Write a complete argumentative/persuasive Essay based on your Essay Plan, using the information and knowledge that you have learned throughout this course.
Length: 1,200 words (+/- 10%) in formal academic English .
The essay’s format and content should be set out in three sections (Introduction, Body, Conclusion). DO NOT use subheadings for the introduction / body / conclusion sections. (Part of the skill of writing short academic texts is making smooth transitions between sections.)
A reference list in APA format is required. The reference list is not counted in the word count.
Direct quotations are counted in the word count, but they should NOT exceed 5% of the essay.
Submission: File an electronic copy (in Word) to the Turnitin link in the Blackboard Assessment folder. Resubmissions are acceptable up until the deadline, but note that similarity reports are only generated once every 24 hours.
IMPORTANT: You must cite at least six scholarly sources. These can be in English or from other languages but if using non-English sources, you need to supply a transliteration and a translation in English. The reference list should be in APA format. Any claims/evidence in the essay should be supported by in-text citations, also in APA format eg (Davidson, 2017).
Use of essay writing / ghostwriting companies is subject to SEVERE penalty – we are able to know if you produced your own work or not, and have the tools to prove it.
If sick/absent, apply for an extension through My.UQ (https://my.uq.edu.au/node/218/2)
This task has been designed to be challenging, authentic and complex. Whilst students may use Al technologies, successful completion of assessment in this course will require students to critically engage in specific contexts and tasks for which artificial intelligence will provide only limited support and guidance. A failure to reference Al use may constitute student misconduct under the Student Code of Conduct. To pass this assessment, students will be required to demonstrate detailed comprehension of their written submission independent of Al tools.

Structure and cited materials
The Introduction should contain your thesis statement, your contributing (and counter) arguments, and the thesis map, in the correct order.
The Body should contain the paragraphs detailing each of your contributing arguments that support the thesis statement. Each paragraph should present evidence supporting your claims.
The Conclusion should restate your thesis statement (using different phrasing) and summarise each of your main arguments.
IMPORTANT: You must cite at least six scholarly sources. These can be in English or from other languages. The reference list should be in APA format. Any claims/evidence in the essay should be supported by in-text citations, also in APA format eg (Davidson, 2017).
Suggested steps
To complete this task, you should build on the essay plan that you developed at the end of Part 1 of the course to:
Develop your introduction to include background context and importance, a thesis statement and a thesis map in a single paragraph;
Elaborate on the points made in your plan for your body paragraphs by explaining and discussing your contributing arguments and their supporting evidence points in more detail;
Use the evidence and arguments that you have presented in your body paragraphs to draw a conclusion that addresses your thesis statement.
It is recommended that you type directly into your essay plan document, rather than starting a new document. This will help you to ensure that you have addressed all of the required aspects of an essay.
Essay Presentation
Use 12 point font, Times New Roman or Arial, black text only
Formatting should be consistent, e.g. are paragraphs indented consistently? Are spaces between paragraphs consistent? Are all parts of the essay in the same font, the same font size, and all black text?
Do not use subheadings
Number every page
Use your full name for your assessment submissions, e.g. XU_Lilian_Essay.docx
please write based on my writing plan ”
Global warming do not exist.docx “
