Part 1. Student creates or finds an optical illusion from real life, takes a picture and pastes it into their paper.
Part 2 is a minimum of 3-page paper (no penalty for going over), citing 1 reference ( your text), that explains the following:
1. a. Using AI (CITE where you got the info from), SUMMARIZE how our brains process visual sensory information (neurons, transduction, sensation, perception, eye, lobes of brain, etc.) starting with the external stimulus and ending at the processing in the brain. Do a comparison of what AI got right or not according to your text Chapters 2 & 3. For example did they use/include all terms and processes correctly?
2. What is occurring in your illusion that we are getting tricked and why it is happening using a THEORY from class or text (e.g., any theories mentioned in text). Do not use any theories from the internet that is not explained in our text. Use our text for definitions (cite)
3. Which one of the six perspectives would you connect your illusion to? Why? Explain the perspective (cite) and how the illusion is an example of this.
4. Define bias (cite) and explain how one’s bias can affect how people see different things in OPTICAL ILLUSIONS.
5. How can you apply what you’ve learned from this illusion project about how your brain processes information and apply it to YOUR everyday life? Give a personal example.
