I would like you to go back to dig out the syllabus (remember the General Items module?).
Find the Goals and Objectives that the English Department agreed upon for this course ENL 110. (Goals are more of what we want to happen within you. Objectives are more concrete, what we want you to be able to do, to show us so we can assess that you have achieved the level we deem necessary for your credits.)
Now assess yourself in light of these Goals and Objectives. Did you achieve these? To what extent? How can you prove it? (Cite specific examples from what you read, wrote, did this semester.) Many of you had many of the skills and abilities to some extent when you entered the course, but how have your abilities and “toolbox” changed from the work you practiced here?
Keep in mind that this course was “Foundations,” a W1 designation, and that you have W2 and W3 still to go. What weaknesses do you still feel you have? What sort of plan can you make independently to strengthen your skills?
You also should look at all the rest of the requirements on the syllabus and see how you measured up this semester.
