A2 point: Pygmalion, who is a skilled sculptor creates an ivory statue of a woman so beautiful that he falls in love with it.
A3 quote: “But meanwhile/ He made, with marvelous art, an ivory statue,/ As white as snow, and it gave it greater beauty/ Than any girl could have, and fell in love/ With his own workmanship” (Humphries 151 lines 5-9).
A5 point: He prays to Venus who is the goddess of love for a wife like his statue and Venus brings the statue to life.
A6 quote: “And Venus’ holiday / Came round, and all the people of the island / Were holding festival, and snow-white heifers, / Their horns all tipped with gold, stood at the altars, / Where incense burned, and, timidly, Pygmalion / Made offering, and prayed: If you can give / All things, O gods, I pray my wife may be—” (Humphries 152 lines 34-40).
A8 point: Pygmalion marries the statue and they have a daughter named Paphos.

B2 point: Both are good at what they do. Higgins knows a lot about sounds and language and Pygmalion is talented at carving sculptures.

B5 point: They both want to change someone. Higgins wants to fix Eliza’s way of speaking and behavior and Pygmalion wants to turn his statue into real life.

C5 point: They both were seen as objects by their creator. Eliza is a project for Higgins and Galatea is a statue for Pygmalion.
