For this Performance Task Assessment, you will create a narrated PowerPoint presentation on building and managing professional relationships when working with others, with attention to strategies to prevent and manage conflict.

In this Competency Assessment, you will create a narrated PowerPoint presentation related to building and managing professional relationships when working with others. Your presentation should be 15–20 slides, plus cover and reference slides. Your PowerPoint must include all of the following:

Part 1: Conflict Management, Civility, Collegiality: Anticipating and Managing Conflict (see the details in Part 1, below).
Part 2: Beyond Teamwork: IPE and IPC (see the details in Part 2, below).
Conclusions related to the importance of building relationships and managing conflict when working with others.
One or more reference slides documenting your resources from the Learning Activities and/or best available current literature, in APA style, which support your thinking.

Part 1: Conflict Management, Civility, Collegiality: Anticipating and Managing Conflict
To prepare:
Based on the topics and specific resources in the Learning Activities, create a realistic scenario that could occur in your professional setting for each of the following situations:
Nurse learners in conflict with other nurse learners;
One or more nurse learners in conflict with a nurse educator;
A nurse educator in conflict with, or having opposing views from, a colleague.
For your PowerPoint:
Describe each of the three conflict scenarios you created.
Explain strategies to minimize and manage instances of incivility related to these conflict scenarios and include why you believe these strategies to be the most effective.
Use the resources in your Learning Activities and/or best available evidence from current literature to support your strategies.
Part 2: Beyond Teamwork: IPE and IPC
To prepare:
Based on the Learning Activity resources related to IPE (interprofessional education), create a scenario from a previous clinical and/or academic experience where IPE was evident, including an explanation of how the scenario would impact a nurse educator’s role.
Based on the Learning Activity resources related to IPC (interprofessional collaboration), create a scenario from a previous clinical and/or academic experience where IPC was evident, including an explanation of how the scenario would impact a nurse educator’s role.
For your PowerPoint:
Describe each of the two scenarios you created, and explain how each scenario would impact a nurse educator’s role.
Explain the differences between interprofessional collaboration and interprofessional education.
Explain how professionals from different disciplines work together and how they learn together, and the importance to your role as a nurse educator.
Part 3: Conclusions
Draw conclusions on the importance of building relationships and managing conflict when working with others. Use the resources in your Learning Activities and/or the best available evidence from current literature to support your conclusions.
