Teacher Note to Students:
According to the syllabus for Week 7 in the required readings section, you will find the Case Study in Appendix II in the textbook.
In answer to the other questions…these are my expectations. Failure to follow these suggestions could result in point deductions. Be sure to review the rubric. Typically, there are always a few students who do not follow the rubric and syllabus instructions for this assignment which can result in point deductions.
To help you prepare to meet these requirements, please do the following:
As you prepare, start with what constitutes ecological, global, and social determinants. Find out their definitions and examples. Explain those definitions and examples in the paper as well as discuss what you found in the Case Study. The Case Study, as I recall, does not name these determinants by name. So, you must start with the knowledge of what they are and recognize examples for each. Once you thoroughly understand what constitutes each, you will be able to discuss them. Note that the rubric says you MUST use scholarly references for each section/element.
Likewise, with epidemiology data: What is that? What are examples? What is included and what other examples of epidemiology data should be included?
This is a capstone assignment which means you must be prepared with the knowledge and understanding of the topic, and then are able to apply that information to this Case Study Scenario. Using ample resources to support your views as indicated in the rubric, the well-written informative paper using sufficient references generally will be 8-10 pages long by the time you answer the questions 1-3 and then speak to the rest of the assignment requirements. Note that this is not a DB whereby you have to respond to your peers. You will only submit this final paper no later than the last day of class on Sunday; I cannot accept any assignments after May 5, 2024.
Be sure to read the assignment directions in all locations: Syllabus, inside the course, and review the rubric details.
Use the Sample Student Paper template. Do not write the questions in the paper. This is a formal, professional quality paper. Point deductions will result if you do not use the Sample Student Paper template.
