Task:

Initial Reflections

Speculate on future developments and their potential impact on your career and daily living.
Conclusion
Summarize your key points and restate your thesis in light of your expanded reflection
Highlight the importance of understanding the complexities of technological advancements – the nuance at play.
Citations
Include at least four citations: two from this unit’s content and two from external sources.
Ensure your external sources are credible and relevant to your arguments.
You have the option to use ChatGPT to inform your writing and, as with the previous Unit paper submission, if you do so, we ask that you submit this output too. The ChatGPT output does not count towards your final word count.
As for what to prompt ChatGPT, you may adopt one of two approaches:
Input your initial motivations, asking something along the lines of, “please help me structure an essay outline based upon this writing (insert your writings here).”   Feel free to modify this prompt as you see fit.
Engage with ChatGPT about the future of technology’s impact on society (again, the positives and negatives.)  Use the outputs to help give your essay structure.
The goals of these prompts are to help inform and steer your paper’s structure with the actual writing, however informed, being your own.  Themes in your writing may draw from (i.e. be inspired by) your earlier reflections, but should not be a copy/paste collation.

Purpose:
We want to see your thoughts expanded in a deeper dive into the foundational content of this course; tell us about your understanding of computation in society, especially how it has grown over the course of this semester. This unit paper serves this function while also setting the stage for the unit discussion/presentation which is paired with this assignment.

What to submit?
Submit the entirety of this writing in the Canvas submission box (i.e. do not submit a link to a word docx.)
That said, a few key items to note:
Include clear breaks for each section.
Place your citations at the end of the writing.
If you used ChatGPT, copy/paste that conversation at the end of the writing.
Please make sure each of the above sections are clearly separated so we can easily distinguish one from another.
