For this draft of the Final Spacing Effect Research Paper, you will analyze the Spacing Effect Data that was collected last semester. You must report the results of your analyses in a Results Section, and discuss the implications of these results in a discussion section. You will also include a reference list citing all of the articles you used within the paper. Your paper will follow APA format (7th edition, professional paper)Links to an external site.
Writing the Results Section
Your results section should be between 2-3 paragraphs. Paragraph 1 will remind the reader of the purpose of the study. Paragraphs 2 (and 3, if needed) will report all statistical results including ANOVA main effects and relevant post-hoc tests. The means and standard deviations for all three levels of the IV should be reported.
Writing the Discussion Section
Your discussion section will be longer than your results section. It will first restate the observed results (in plain English/without statistics). Next, you will use the literature that you previously read and cited in D&A1 to contextualize your results — this interpretation in the context of the literature will include which articles/theories/principles of the spacing effect your results support and which they do not support. Finally, you will discuss limits/downsides of our current study (aim to discuss 2-3 limits), plus a brief discussion of potential directions for future research Note that the rubric states that at least four articles must be cited in your discussion section.
