April 30, 2024

Draft a 2500-word minimum, double-spaced
paper on a law-related topic of your choice, using at least three scholarly
sources. Analyze and explain a legal topic that is of interest to you. You must
use three scholarly sources, which are peer-reviewed journals or law reviews.
Unacceptable, non-scholarly sources are magazines, newspapers, web sites
(unless you have received approval from me), Wikipedia and anything like it,
and other popular media. If in doubt as to whether a source meets the
scholarly standard, then email me to ask. Use a recognized form of citation in
your paper, such as Chicago, MLA, or the Blue Book. You can use footnotes,
endnotes, or in-text citation. Grammar, style, and spelling will all count, in
addition to the substance of your analysis and explanation. Try to have fun by
picking a topic about which you are curious. Your paper topic and sources
must be PRE-APPROVED BY ME. Therefore, submit to Canvas three proposed
sources and your proposed topic by the designated topic-submission due date
on Canvas.
I have this interest in Griselda Blanco, Pablo Escabar, and the cowboy wars in the 80s Miami Florida and how this impacted Americans especially in the black community. I have not exactly pinpointed my topic, but I would like to talk about national security. I had a phase where I learned a lot about Griselda Blanco and how she basically started her life in Meliden Colombia as a young Momma raising her kids to becoming a drug pin queen moving thousands of cocaine into America starting in New York all the way down to Miami Florida, maybe I can talk a little more about this but I’m not sure how.
Down below are the sources I was approved to use by my professor
Bagley, Bruce Michael. “The New Hundred Years War? US National Security and the War on Drugs in Latin America.” Journal of Interamerican Studies and World Affairs, vol. 30, no. 1, 1988, pp. 161–82. JSTOR, https://doi.org/10.2307/165793. Accessed 15 Feb. 2024.
Koch, Edward I. “The War on Drugs.” Science, vol. 242, no. 4878, 1988, pp. 495–495. JSTOR, http://www.jstor.org/stable/1702034. Accessed 15 Feb. 2024.
