Writing about the school song.
Good evening guests, family members, and classmates. We the Class of 2024 selected “Over The Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwio as our class song. There are a few lyrics that stuck out to us and resonated with us. The chorus “somewhere over the rainbow, way up high”. The class of 2024 believed this to mean the aspirations and dreams that the class of 2024 holds as we look forward to achieving our goals and making our mark on the world. Even though our high school years are coming to an end just the beginning of another exciting new chapter.
It’s a song that inspires us to hope and encourages to believe in the beauty of our dreams as we take our first steps into the real world.
The second one “Troubles melt like lemon drops” serves that the difficulties we might face in the future are temporary and that there is a world of happiness and opportunities that lie ahead of us. The final one is “the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.”This line encourages us to continue to reach for our dreams, even when they might seem as distant as a rainbow.
On June 7th we will be walking on that stage receiving our high school diploma realizing we have made it across the rainbow. We shall forever remember our time at MHS all our accomplishments and all the good times. The class of 2024 is forever grateful for our parents, and teachers who have helped us reach our goals along the way.
