Paper Instructions listed below part one has been completed and information from this is listed below this assignment is for Part Two.
While topics in abnormal psychology make the news almost daily, reporters do not always present research results in an accurate manner.  Your task in this paper is to find a newspaper or magazine article from the past year that discusses at least one of the disorders addressed in this module. The primary focus of this paper is to evaluate the quality of information that would generally be available to the public, who don’t know to look at specialized information sources. The article should be at least a few pages long.
This assignment has two parts:
Part 1: Submit the following as part of Module 3:
The URL for an online article about depressive or bipolar disorders-Completed
A summary, in your own words, of what the article was about-Completed
Part 2: After you have received feedback from your instructor, continue to use the approved article and write a paper with the following elements. Submit the following as part of Module 5:
A summary, in your own words, of what the article was about (this can be the same as your Part 1 submission)
A description of the central issues or concerns; that is, why was the article written, do you think? What is the message it is trying to convey?
A description on whether you think this article accurately described the disorder(s); be sure to base your answer on what you learned in the module. You should also use one additional reliable source to evaluate the article’s description of the disorder (e.g., part of the DSM, or a source from NIMH). Also be sure to give specific reasons why you think the article did or did not accurately describe the disorder.
An evaluation of the impact of this article; does it genuinely contribute to understanding of the topic at hand or is it misleading?
The paper should be written according to APA style format. At a minimum, this includes:
Title Page
Double-spaced, 12-pt Times-New Roman text. Remove extra space between paragraphs that is the default in MS Word.
1” margins on all four sides
References page (all references cited in the text, all citations included on the references page)
1. URL used was: https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/02/health/bipolar-disorder-explained-wellness/index.html
URL for reliable, academic source: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/bipolar-disorder
2. Summary:
The article was about the symptoms of someone who has
bipolar disorder. It also addressed different versions of the mental
illness someone may suffer from such as bipolar I and bipolar II. This
article head destigmatizes bipolar disorder by speaking about a famous
evening comedian who is open and public about her bipolar diagnosis to
help others realize this can affect anyone you may know from your
coworker, family member, or even someone others make look up to such as
this comedian.  The different types
of bipolar disorders were explained for a better understanding of each
diagnosis as well and the treatments available to assist someone suffering
from bipolar disorder were explained such as mood stabilizers,
antipsychotic mediation, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Some holistic
approaches to help cope with bipolar disorders include exercising, yoga,
meditation, and if this individual is religious their faith can play a role
as well. These tools can be used in correlation with mood stabilizers or
antipsychotic medications. This article helps shine a light on how common
mental illnesses are within society, especially for those suffering from
bipolar disorder.
