Probation, Parole, & Reentry
I am interested in examining the topic of probation, parole, and reentry because it is a crucial
aspect of the criminal justice system with significant implications for individuals and
communities. Probation and parole are often seen as alternatives to incarceration, but they also
come with their own challenges and complexities. Understanding how these programs work,
their effectiveness in reducing recidivism, and the barriers individuals face when reentering
society after incarceration can provide valuable insights into improving the reintegration process.
By examining these aspects, I hope to contribute to the ongoing discussions on criminal justice
reform and support efforts to create more effective and equitable systems of supervision and
support for individuals reentering society.
