This is from the syllabus about the class to help you understand what the class is about. This is unrelated to the assignment: Course Overview and Objectives
The goal of this course is to understand the historical and political impacts of global
capitalism. This course will assess the rise of capitalism and the global capitalist system
over the last two hundred years through the interplay between events, economic theories,
and government policies. Topics covered in this course include the economic issues of
trade, finance, production, environment, and development. You will engage with
International Relations concepts, ideas, and literatures on the economic relations among
states, and between states and non-state actors (such as firms, social groups, and
international organizations). The focus will therefore be on the political problems that arise
as a consequence of the increasing interdependence of international economic relations.
Alternative analytical, cultural, and theoretical perspectives will be examined for their
value in helping to understand and evaluate the historical development and current
operation of the world economy.
Assignment Instructions: “The analysis essay is an opportunity for you to gain in-depth understanding and critically analyze a topic related to the rise of global capitalism. This papers will reflect your analysis and conclusions on the topic you select. The essay should be between 4-5 pages. See Guide and Rubric for Analysis Essay Actions for details.”
It suggests some topics in the Guide and Rubric but here are the topics we touched on so it’ll help you pick what topic you want to write about: The First Phase of Industrialization 1760-1880, Early Theories of Capitalism, The Second Phase of Industrialization 1880 – 1950s, The Interwar Period, Karl Marx and Communism, The Postwar Period, Contemporary Capital Theorists.
The textbook for the course is The Industrial Revolution in World History by Peter N. Stearns
I added the readings in the classes to the files below as well as some websites so you can cite at least four of them for whatever topic you choose.
Here are websites the professor used for resources so you can site them as well:

I used MLA style for all of my other assignments so if you can use MLA that would be great! Good luck and thanks for doing this!
