You are going to write an argumentative paper (from 1800 to 2000 words around and *not* including bibliography,
footnotes and endnotes) on a topic in the study of Eating Meat morality. Please select 2 reading papers from the list of suggested
readings. You can find all these reading papers in Moodle.
In your essay, you should argue for the position of 1 author of these 2 selected reading papers. In this case, you
should compare the positions of these 2 authors from these 2 selected reading papers and decide which 1 of them
you want to support. Notice that your essay should not merely be a summary of the 2 selected reading papers, but it
should consist of your own position and arguments. Your essay should include all these following components:
1) Title. Give a title to indicate the topic of your essay.
2) Introduction. Give a brief introduction to your essay.
3) Summary. Summarize the main themes of these 2 selected reading papers.
4) Position. State your position on these 2 authors’ positions, i.e., whether you agree or disagree with the
positions of these 2 selected reading papers.
5) Argument/s. Provide argument/s to support your position, which can be based on these 2 selected reading
papers or based on three moral theories (i.e., Utilitarianism, Kant’s Deontology or Aristotle’s Virtue Ethics).
6) Counter-argument/s. Provide counter-argument/s to counter your argument/s.
7) Quotations. Incorporate at least three direct quotations (at least 40 words of each quotation) extracted from
those selected academic papers into your essay. These quotations must be displayed as an indented block of
text and followed by your elaboration or analysis in your essay.
8) Conclusion. Provide a brief conclusion of your position and argument/s as you have mentioned above.
9) Bibliography. (Citation format for example: APA, MLA or Chicago)
