Write a research essay of approximately six pages about one of the following question. In answering the question, you must include in-depth analysis of relevant class readings (Niewyk, Bergen, and Blatt) and one article from a peer-reviewed academic journal.

Analyze the role of the Polish population in the Holocaust. Compare and contrast Blatt’s descriptions of Polish behavior with the views of multiple historians on the subject. Develop a thesis about the position of Poles in relation to the Holocaust during the Nazi occupation of their country.
This paper will be graded based on the following criteria:
