What I Learned…(AKA How This Course Has Changed Me)
Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to reflect on what you have learned and how you have changed during this past semester in PSYC 101. Understanding this connection between your life and psychology is one of the core objectives of this class.  There are four chapters which you will be writing about.  Chapters 5 (Learning), 6 (Memory), 8 (Development), and 10 (Personality). Please choose a couple ideas from each chapter to write about.
Parts  There will be 3 distinct parts to this paper.
First, give a brief introduction of the topics you have chosen to discuss.  This should be about 1 page.  Then write about the topics and your learning (how you think differently, how you relate differently, etc.).  This is also about 1 page per chapter. At the end you will summarize your overall learning and how this course has impacted you – this will be about 1/2 to 1 page.
The TOPIC/LEARNING sections will be approximately 1 page each, briefly describing the ideas/theories/concepts from the above listed chapters AND why you found it interesting/how your thinking changed.  I would like the majority of the 1 page per chapter to be about your learning, rather than a long explanation of the topic.
Here is where you will briefly describe the topics, cite your sources, and give a few details about the concept/theory or idea. This is not a comprehensive re-teaching of the material.  You must USE YOUR OWN WORDS.  When you cite, you can paraphrase the author – but don’t use quotes.  Any “psychobabble” which is not in your own voice will be marked down.  Clearly delineate between topics.
You need to explain each concept/idea in your own words and also cite your sources.
You need at least four sources. You can use your textbook more than once, but be sure you have another source for each topic as well.
Be concise in describing each topic/concept.
Then go on and explain why you liked this idea and how you have changed from learning about this topic.
This will be the majority of the one page per topic.
What was interesting about this?
How has learning about this changed you?
Your viewpoint?
How you relate to others?
Your behavior?
Has this made you reassess different aspects of yourself/your life? How so?
Other?
Finally, you will have a conclusion summarizing what you have learned and how this course has changed you.
