In 3.5 – 5 double spaced pages using course materials only explain the story of human evolution citing the textbook at least THREE additional COURSE SOURCES.
You might start by discussing ancestral traits we share with our Class mammalia, as well as the new derived traits we share with the primate Order. You then should discussed traits that define hominins.
Your paper should cover the last common ancestor (~8-6mya) up to the advent of Homo sapiens. What do paleoanthropologists and archaeologists know and how have they learned it? What do they suspect based on less-than-conclusive evidence?
Note entire textbooks have been written on this topic and you have millions of years to cover, so in this 3.5-5 page paper you will need to be selective (don’t get lost in the weeds) while demonstrating a good understanding of the trends of human evolution.
Answers should draw only from course material. Bring in at least three other materials assigned in this course in addition to our text book. At least two of the additional sources should be assigned readings, the third could be assigned videos or material from the interactive assignments.
All sources should be footnoted or cited parenthetically in conjunction with a works cited section. Include page numbers or time on a video.
