1.Please enter or attach the very detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for your individual project. This should be very detailed and suitable for direct input into MS Project. Look at input data for A&D HiTech (A) homework as an example. Every single little task should be listed. You do not need the project management line.
Please do not have a sublevel with only one task in it. If you have only one task in a sublevel you do not need that sublevel. You also do not need a manage project task.
Note that for a wedding, you need all the actions that take place on the wedding day as separate tasks. For a trip, each day on trip is a separate heading with all actions that day listed underneath. When listing tasks assume that if not listed it will not be done so include all tasks however small. e.g., button hole flowers in a wedding, or buying souvenirs on a trip.
You can use any format for this assignment but if you just use an Excel or Word list it is easy to copy and paste into MS Project.
The WBS list should be very detailed. Assume someone else will carry out project who now nothing and only has list.
e.g., for trip you must have packing and unpacking, all meals , all transport segments as separate tasks. Assume there is no winging it on trip
e.g., for wedding include every little thing that happens down to flowers for buttonholes.
e.g., for home projects include getting tools and replacing them to storage afterwards.
Note as you put WBS into MS project you will all probably find out you missed some tasks and have to add to list.
The final WBS in final report needs to be exhaustive.
Normally one does not list in WBS activities like project management that continue from start to finish. I know A&D Hi Tech does (1.1 and 1.1.1) but please do not do that for your own project. This is because having a Project Manager does not have to be planned. Other start to finish tasks like site security for a construction site or project accountant, etc. which are time based cost snot activity based costs do not have to be on WBS.
2.Please enter or attach the detailed cost & duration time estimates for your individual project WBS tasks. They should be where possible actual quotes. Please include ALL costs not just labor costs. That means cost not associated with times like raw materials or ticket costs. Please breakdown costs by item and say if exact or estimated. All tasks will have times; not all tasks will have costs.
Please give exact time for all WBS tasks do not group tasks times.; e.g., 2 days not 1 day if it take 5 hours. You can use hours instead of day or fractions of a day such as .01 day. Also include time estimates for all tasks, including those that cost nothing.
e.g., Do not put painting 10 hours but prep walls 1 hour, paint undercoat 2 hours, wait for dry 12 hours, paint main coat, wait to dry 12 hours, paint touch up.
Note that you can list costs separately if they are lump sum and you are not paying by the hour.
You do not need per hours costs if it does not make sense.
You should not group times but can group costs
e.g., so, each meal should have a separate duration.
3.Please enter or attach the Realistic Schedule for your individual project. You must use MS Project or other project software here. A model is what you did for A&D Tech (A) case but do not put in project manager as a task. Please put in all predecessors and resources used. You can use Work or Duration. This should be a very detailed schedule with no red men. Note that using work means you can change the duration by more resources. If you are only resource then use the real duration, which may be a fraction of a day or hour. Do not show yourself doing two things at same time.
Use a Gantt chart scale that allows you to see what is happening. Please do not use WORK column unless you have ability to increase resource. If the resources are fixed then put times into DURATION column. Also please put predecessors in for all tasks. You may have to arbitrarily decide the sequence you do things but for example breakfast follows sleep.
Please change scale of bar area in top right by clicking on it and changing bottom tier. You can have weeks, days, hours, or minutes
Please include a WBS column and tick “critical tasks” box under Format.
Please put in all predecessor information. One has to have this information before starting schedule. For example, breakfast before travel to park before go on rides before lunch before go to rides before dinner before watch fireworks before go to hotel. You cannot do 2 things at same time usually!
The predecessor numbers are the row numbers on the far left NOT the WBS task numbers!!!
If you have several activities the same day – holidays, weddings, etc. put durations in hours not days and top scale in hours. You may have to have 2 schedules for a wedding – one in days for lead in and one in hours or minutes for wedding day.
If you have red men it means either you have too big duration times or you are trying to do too much at same time.
If you want a task to start at a particular time just click on beginning of taskbar and move it to when you want it. Also you are allowed to have time between tasks, e.g., if task take 1 hour and next task starts in 20 days, make first takes 2 hours then either click on and move start of next taskbar to correct date or enter start date in table under start date.
You do not have to have tasks follow each other directly like in A&D HiTech; there can be a gap between tasks.
Please do not put % completion data into your schedule (you can tell if you are doing this as a tick appears in far left column and a line appears through middle of task.) unless task is really completed and shown in past .
If you have completion lines through task bars then double right click on each task in turn and on task information sheet that pops up ensure that percentage completion number is is 0.
Note that if you have tasks that take less than a day, then please use hours in bottom tier of Gantt chart timescale (top right), so you can see what is happening.
4.Please enter or attach the project team structure (organization chart) and the detailed communication plan (for those involved in project execution) for your individual project (2 separate documents, can be in one file). A detailed communication plan will list ALL the people that you need to talk to during your project execution by name, how often you communicate, and how (email, telephone, letter, twitter, video, etc.).
This is not the communication plan to do the homework!!
Note the communication plan and the organization chart are separate items – submit both!
Please also include the final team structure (organization chart), even if is just you. This includes who reports to whom. An organisation chart consists of people in boxes with arrows showing who reports to whom.
5.Please enter or attach the change control process (your process for handling possible future changes not the changes themselves), the measurement system for the project (not changes), and the final evaluation plans for your individual project (not changes). (3 separate documents but can be in one file). Note the measurement plan and evaluation plan have nothing to do with the change process; they are three separate parts of final report. The measurement plan show how and what you measure throughout the project. The evaluation plan is done at the end, They are separate process.
DO NOT USE A GENERIC PLAN: tailor your plans to your particular project. A good start is to use your original project objectives as Qs. e.g., if objective was to have fun, ask “Did we have fun?
You must say what you will measure, when and how, to enable you do do an after completion project evaluation report. Who will do evaluation after you finish the project?. How will you learn from project successes and mistakes? Note that you should cover the triangle of costs, times, and specifications. That is were costs over or under and why? What times were under or over and why? Were specifications were met or not and why? What was fun and what was not, etc
6. Final Project Plan Report. All your previous work as an integrated project plan report with title page, page numbers, contents page, etc., as one document.Note report should look pretty with attractive cover and suitable photos.
Also when doing the fianl prject plan report besure to also include what i have given you as well.
I have inlcuded what I already gave you should get the gist of the project from the word docs that I have shared. If possible could you do the executive summary before 11 EST that would be amazing. Also please make sure that each of those different things are on different word documents.
