The Global Villager Assignment is worth 200 points – 100 points for the paper and 100 for
points for the presentation, see the rubric for written assignments and presentations. If this
is a virtual class, then ignore the in-person information, unless you are doing a video for your
presentation. You can do a voice over power point. Links to outside sources are at the bottom
of this assignment sheet.
The class sample, as a global village represents 100 people (if there are 100 people in the global
village, each student would represent about 68 million people)
Chose a global villager from the table. As we go through the class lectures, take notes, and
research your villager weekly. The best out of class sources are the CIA World Fact Book, and
the U.S. State Department.
You will be learning how this person’s life today and how it will be affected in 2050. Compile
your weekly writing, notes and research and write around a seven-page paper what this
person’s life may be like in ten years. Think about the Dark, Light and Grey that might be in this
person’s life, and in their future.
Format you paper – APA title page, no abstract (abstracts are only for 4693 capstone class). This
is an APA paper so you will need APA citations and reference page. Have an introduction,
introduce you villager, be creative, give them a name and persona, create their life. The use
Subtitles for all the lectures we have in class: Turbulence, Populations, Information, Technology,
Economics, Conflict/Security, Governance. Then a summary of where this person will be in
2050.
