This will be your final work in Street Foods from Around the World for this semester. In this assignment, you will put together PowerPoint slides with notes of your favorite cultural street food from around the world. Below are the guidelines for each item you need to cover. The guidelines this time are in a “list format” and include their respective points. The total for this assignment is 125 (to be consistent with your syllabus points).
1) Title slide: Name of the selected street food country, city, town, village, your name (1 slide)
2) Introduction (5 pts): Provide your reasons for choosing this street food and country, city, town, village, and outline of your presentation (1 slide + note page)
3) Geographic location (5 pts): Provide a map showing the geographical location and a brief description of the selected city, town, country (1 slide + note page)
4) History (15 pts): Explain the major historical factors that have impacted the street food styles and production of the street food selected (1 to 2 slides + accompanying notes)
5) Environment (15 pts): Describe the physical environment in the city, town, community, or country. Then, indicate how the environment has impacted traditional street food creation and eating. For example, how does climate play a role or not? How about agriculture and farming? (1 slide + notes)
6) Culture (15 pts): What are the social characteristics that define food consumption and the culture of the community it is in? (1 slide + notes)
7) Environmental impact; negative or positive (15 pts): How did street food or food truck vendors impact their local communities in a sustainable or unsustainable way? Take one of the stands on the issue (1 slide + notes)
8) Comparison (15 pts): What are the similarities and differences in culture and cuisine between the many food trucks or street food vendors in this country and the rest of the world? (1 slide + note page)
9) Conclusion (20 pts): After examining each component separately, what can you say about the effects of geography, environment, history, culture, and trends that street foods have had upon food culture in the community of the country, city, town, the village you have selected? What do these characteristics say about the culture as a whole? How would you describe street food and culture in the area chosen? (1 or 2 slides + notes)
10) Learning (15 pts): This part is a type of self-reflection. What have you learned from this project? (1 slide + note page)
