Students are required to write a 4-page (minimum) paper choosing a population
they are unfamiliar with from our text- this is about you growing and expanding
your wheelhouse. You may choose more than one population if you would like.
2. Write a paper answering the following:
What have been your assumptions during your life about the population you chose
prior to this course? Then, what has changed, if anything, regarding your thoughts
on this population? Be specific.
For example, if you chose birth to three, did you always think they were cute?
Annoying? Too loud? Just don’t understand that age group? Why or why not? Be
specific.
Then, after starting this course (or other similar courses), what has changed in your
view of this population? For example, are you now aware of some things that may
cause a two-year-old to act in the manner they are acting? If so, what? Etc.
I am interested in your previous assumptions, things you have learned along the
way that have challenged your assumptions, changed your thoughts, or kept them
the same.
3. Paper should be double spaced and 12 point font.
4. Paper does NOT have to be APA style, but if you do choose to utilize outside
resources (our class PowerPoints, class text, etc.), you will need a reference page
(which is not part of your 4 page minimum).
For FULL CREDIT on FINAL paper: I am looking for at least 4 pages of content
(which means if you include a title page and/or a reference page, that is not
included in your 4-page minimum), double spaced and 12 point font. Choosing at
least one population you are unfamiliar with (you may choose more than one),
answering the questions above, and adding in more information that you think is
pertinent to what you are wanting to say in your paper on this subject.
Use the Life Span Development Outline that is attached and use the information from Chapter 7 and 8 that should be included in the writting Assigment.
