1. There should be several key steps in ensuring that I will be prepared for an international role like this, the first one that come to my mind would be about becoming competent about the culture to ensure that you are going to be respectful and can keep up with their business etiquette as well. The second strategy that comes to mind is coming up with a strategic vision that aligns with the goals of the company to ensure that the transformation will work. The third key strategy that I would like to cover is clear communications skills because the teams are going to be diverse, and you will need to be sure you can communicate everything important across to all team members. Next, I think that developing a network within the company to ensure that you can be contact with the latest trends, sharing ideas, and learning the best practices with the employees. If I can focus on these ideas, they can help me to take on an international role, hopefully then I can encourage others to embrace the new changes within the company and make the needed improvements within the organization. I think it’s important to note that motivating new diverse employees is to lead by a good example, showing the empathy for them, and also it would be vital to recognize their contributions with the new changes.

2. When presented with the opportunity to grow and transform the business community for Ericsson in Sweden, it is crucial that I take the proper preparation steps to ensure my success. Conducting thorough research pertaining to Ericsson’s values, culture, mission, and working techniques is an essential start to my overall preparation. Since I know that I will be working in a leadership role where one of my main duties will be to motivate and inspire others, I want to make sure that I am prepared to be in that pivotal position. Some ways I would prepare to take on this management position would be to understand the role and everything it entails, know the type of employees and people I will be working with, and understand the culture of the work environment I will be entering. We actually just performed a case analysis in the Organizational Behavior course I am currently enrolled in, and the entire study was about a manager who presented to a group of Native Americans and completely butchered her presentation because she was unfamiliar with her group’s cultural norms. After conducting that case study, I truly saw the importance of doing your research in depth and preparing yourself to interact with other cultures because it may not be anything like what you’re used to.
