Write a seven-to-10-page research essay about our course’s literature that examines a cultural, literary, or historical
issue of your choosing*.
This essay should include a clearly defined and well-thought-out basic claim or thesis you will prove throughout.
Also included should be critical analysis of your topic, which involves showing connections (and perhaps conflict) among
the concepts and texts examined. Concluding remarks or a summation of your findings must also be included. You
should create a coherent paper, written in paragraphs, that uses sources to enhance your ideas.
You may utilize any argumentative style for this paper. Your essay should cite research sources using MLA style† ,
both in text and in a “Works Cited” page. You must cite at least five scholarly sources in your paper. The “Works Cited”
page does not count toward the minimum-page (nor -word) requirement, nor does a title page, nor does filling half the
