Your task as a group is to create a comprehensive Company Investment Report on NextEra Energy. This report aims to analyze the potential of investing in the selected company, considering various factors such as industry trends, company strategy, and financial health.
Title Page – Original title, names of each research analyst (your group members), and date. Remember, you are working for an investment bank – not me or the school.
Table of Contents – Provide a table of all sections and corresponding page numbers.
Executive Summary – Overview in one (1) short paragraph of 8-10 sentences stating the purpose of the report, the industry, company, and recommendation (invest or not).
Introduction – Begin your report with a clear thesis paragraph that presents your investment recommendation (invest or not) and briefly outline the reasons that will be discussed in detail in the report.
Body Structure – Organize the report logically. After the introduction, provide the industry overview, followed by the detailed company analysis from your research. Each section should flow smoothly into the next, building a strong case for your final recommendation. You must include relevant data tables, charts and graphs in your analysis. Review and apply concepts from the textbook regarding speaking, writing, and persuasion at it relates to business communication.
Conclusion – Summarize the key points that support your investment decision. Reiterate your recommendation based on the analysis provided.
References – Include alphabetized list of ALL references at the end of the report (minimum of 7 sources), formatted according APA citation (see APA guidelines at PurdueOWL).
Your final written report must be a minimum of 10 pages and a maximum of 12 pages – not including your coverpage, table of contents, executive summary or references.
Sources – You must gather data from at least seven (7) recent (within the last 3-4 years), balanced, and independent sources. Avoid relying heavily on the company’s own website, except for basic background information. Utilize academic journals, industry reports, reputable news articles, and financial analysis reports.
