Topic: Research
Proposal
Identify an area of
interest in your studies for which you wish to undertake your research proposal
and formulate a specific research question(s) to be researched in a
methodological way.
Your
proposal should contain all the key elements involved in the research process
and include sufficient information for the readers to evaluate the study. It
should provide a preliminary critical insight to the relevant literature and
most importantly put forward the appropriate methodology in order to answer
your research question(s) and meet your research objective(s).
A research proposal
is intended to:
Convince others
that you have a worthwhile research proposal.
Demonstrate
that you have the competence and the work-plan to complete it.
Reveal that you
have a good grasp of the relevant literature and the major issues, and
Display that
your proposed methodology is sound.
The
research proposal is an individual report of 2,500 words excluding cover
page, table of contents, appendices, tables and graphs.
The
appropriate assignment structure could consist of:
1.
Introduction (10%)
This
section should be designed to interest their reader in their topic and proposal
and provide some context for their dissertation. At the end of this section,
students should make a quick introduction to the main subject of their project
by looking at their topic through a critical, analytic lens and clearly state
their intentions.
2. Preliminary Literature Review
(30%)
In this section, students should
present the theory that exists in the pertinent literature on the subject of
the proposed study.
3. Research Objectives and Questions
(20%)
In this section, students must
clearly describe the research objectives of the proposed study and the reasons
they formulate these specific objectives and critically describe the major
points of innovativeness of the proposed research. This section should conclude
with the main research question(s).
4. Proposed Methodology and Analysis
(25%)
In this section, students should
present all stages of the methodology you propose for your dissertation
(research approach, design, data collection methods, sources, limitations,
e.t.c.) as also briefly describe the way they will analyze the study’s data by
using the appropriate statistical methods.
5. References – Bibliography and
Essay writing (15%)
Students should use the Harvard
Referencing System for every source used (including AI generated content; for
citing instructions, please consult the Harvard Referencing guide on ilearn https://ilearn.bca.edu.gr/course/view.php?id=913).
Any AI Text Generator (AITG) content
used should be also mentioned in the Appendix, including AITG prompts, full
AITG response, and how/in which parts of the coursework the responses have been
used.
A proposal is of vital
importance in accomplishing the entire dissertation
