After reading chapter 34 and the links on “How Income and Wealth are Linked to Health and Longevity” and “Inventing a New Paradigm for Care,” choose TWO questions from below (restate the questions).
Health care is a personal issue. Assuring the health of the public, goes beyond focusing on the health status of individuals; it requires a population health approach. What does this statement mean to you? Can we learn/gain anything from other countries such as Australia to improve our public health care?
The reasons for preventive medicine argues that the knowledge we already possess is sufficient. If we put into practice, we can achieve great health gains for all and reduce our inequalities in health. What sufficient knowledge are they referring to? What health gains can be accomplished and what are the benefits?
“Where there is less economic disparity, there tends to be less social disparity and more support that benefit public health” What economic and social policy interventions and support are likely to benefit public health?
How do public health researchers and practitioners take the lead in creating public awareness?
